Anthony Laffor and Cuthbert Malajila for Sibusiso Vilakazi?

Posted: 21 June 2016 Time: 15:32

Bidvest Wits are believed to be stalling on the exit of Sibusiso Vilakazi as they await ‘the right offer’.

As speculation surrounding the 26-year-old attacker’s future increases, KickOff.com has learnt that The Clever Boys are reluctant to let go of their prized asset – despite strong interest from the ‘big three’ – without securing any replacement(s).

With foreign duo Kris Bright and Joaquim Lupeta set for the exit door, Gavin Hunt is desperate to bolster his strike-force ahead of the 2016/17 campaign by adding to their acquisition of Malawian international Gabadinho Mhango on a pre-contract from Bloemfontein Celtic.

However, due to Pirates and Chiefs’ own lack of prolific frontmen, a source has revealed that Wits are trying to use ‘Vila’ as bait to lure Mamelodi Sundowns duo Cuthbert Malajila and Anthony Laffor in a swap deal.

Laffor is already facing disciplinary action at Chloorkop after failing to report for training and subsequently being dropped from the squad for their CAF Champions League group stage opener against ES Setif last weekend.

Malajila was used sparingly at Sundowns last season as Pitso Mosimane opted for Colombia striker Leonardo Castro instead.
