Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Josephs disappointed with second place to Mamelodi Sundowns

Bidvest Wits goalkeeper Moeneeb Josephs believes the club should have won the Absa Premiership this past season with the quality of their squad.

The Students recruited numerous players in their bid for title glory in 2015/16, including the likes of Elias Pelembe, Bongani Khumalo, James Keene and Daine Klate.

However, Gavin Hunt's side finished a hefty 14 points behind champions Mamelodi Sundowns - much to Josephs's disappointment.

"It has been an okay season, it has been slightly disappointing for me more than anything else," Josephs told Wits' website.

"Bidvest Wits Football Club brought in a copious amount of quality players and together we should have claimed the title. The team definitely has the ability to win the Absa Premiership and we simply could just not achieve that this season.

"I think mentally as a team we were just not strong enough. Finishing second is not the worst finish but we had higher hopes and next season we will work have to work harder."
