Polokwane City will take up the option of a further two years on the contract of Thobani Mncwango, who is being chased by the likes of Orlando Pirates, Bidvest Wits and Bloemfontein Celtic.
Mncwango finished second on the scoring charts this past season with 13 goals, triggering widespread interest in his services while he also received a Bafana Bafana call-up.
Maritzburg United and Golden Arrows have also shown interest in the striker.
KickOff.com can confirm that while Mncwango’s contract is running up at the end of the month the club has an option of a further two years which they will be taking up.
Johnny Mogaladi, the Polokwane boss, has already informed the 28-year-old that he is not ready to cash in on him just as yet as he still desperately needs him for the new season.
Mogaladi has already been approached by the interested clubs.
However, Mncwango has also apparently made it known that he would prefer to leave as he believes he is in his prime and needs to test himself in a new environment.
Mncwango, who is currently back home in KwaZulu-Natal, joined City three years ago from Baroka FC.
