William Twala targets silverware with Kaizer Chiefs

Posted: 9 June 2016 Time: 08:50

William Twala says Kaizer Chiefs have put a disappointing season behind them and are looking to dominate next season.

Amakhosi endured a trophyless first season under Steve Komphela, resulting in the club releasing 20 players in a drastic move last week.

Twala, signed midway through the season from Chippa United, was one of the few bright spots for Chiefs, and he is desperate to cap an encouraging start with some silverware in 2015/16.

“This season was very challenging … no-one saw Sundowns winning the League title because they didn’t start well,” the 26-year-old says in the latest edition of KICK OFF magazine (issue 470).

“Personally I was happy to play and score some goals, but we were unfortunate with a run of poor results. It is hard to single out what it was that led us not to win.”

Twala adds: “Our target next season is obviously to get silverware. Coach Steve Komphela made it very clear that we must be focused on improving ourselves. We want to dominate, not just compete.”
