Siboniso Gaxa seeking legal opinion on contract issue with Kaizer Chiefs

Posted: 7 June 2016 Time: 13:55

Siboniso Gaxa is seeking a legal opinion after Kaizer Chiefs recently announced he was being released.

Chiefs on May 31 said Gaxa's contract would not be renewed when it expired at the end of July, along with Morgan Gould, Reneilwe Letsholonyane and Reyaad Pieterse.

But according to Gaxa's business manager Glyn Binkin his client's deal with the club runs until 2018.

Last year on October 21 Amakhosi also tweeted: “Pa Gaxa has signed a 2 year contract extension with the Club that will run from 01 July 2016 – 30 June 2018.”

And now Binkin says Gaxa is considering his options.

“We are disappointed at how this matter has been handled,” Binkin tells KickOff.com. “Gaxa has an existing contract with the club. Now we are seeking a legal opinion on the matter and the truth will come out.”

When this website contacted Chiefs spokesperson Vina Maphosa about the issue he said “it’s a matter of management to clarify”.
