Bidvest Wits trigger Thabang Monare's Jomo Cosmos buyout clause, set to sign

Posted: 2 June 2016 Time: 16:55

Bidvest Wits are poised to sign Jomo Cosmos midfielder Thabang Monare after agreeing to pay a R300 000 buyout clause in his contract.

The player met with Jomo Sono yesterday afternoon to say his goodbyes and thanked the club owner for giving him an opportunity to play for his club, confirms a reliable source.

The clause in Monare's contract with Ezenkosi allowed him a buyout if the team was to be relegated.

“Wits are sending a letter to Sono which says they are exercising this buyout clause,” the source tells KickOff.com.

Monare will be the third player to join Wits this off-season after Eleazar Rodgers and Pentjie Zulu were announced on pre-contracts.
