Morton, an industrious midfielder, reiterated his worth with a man-of-the-match display in United's 3-2 win over Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final on Saturday.

"Michael does a great job for us," says Baxter of the former Buccaneer.

"Because Michael is one of the central midfield players that can make those runs even though maybe he is not technical like (Thato) Mokeke or Morne Nel.

"When Michael rips the heart out with these performances by constantly going forward in (attack) and going back… what I feel is Michael is a very underrated player."

Morton, who also won the Nedbank Cup with Bidvest Wits in 2010, penned a two-year contract extension with Matsatsantsa earlier this month.
