Polokwane City hitman Thobani Mncwango says it is dream come true to be called up for Bafana Bafana's AFCON qualifier with Gambia on June 4.
Mncwango caught the eye of national team coach Ephraim 'Shakes' Mashaba with 13 league goals this season - one less than Golden Boot winner Collins Mbesuma.
"I feel happy and it is a dream come true to play for my country. I have been praying for this and it has finally come," says Mncwango.
"It feels like I have to work more harder. And I promise I will fight once I arrive there for the national team.
"And to be honest I was not surprised to get this call-up because I have been doing well at my team and I was expecting it. I’m happy that it finally came."
The 28-year-old will face competition for game-time in Bakau from fellow forwards Thamsanqa Gabuza, Sibusiso Vilakazi and Ndumiso Mabena.
Bafana, who go into camp on Sunday, are five points behind Group M leaders Cameroon with two games remaining.
