Maritzburg United playmaker Kurt Lentjies will remain with the club next season following his impressive efforts.

Lentjies scored nine goals and provided seven assists in all competitions for the Team of Choice in 2015/16.

The 31-year-old, who made 24 league starts, was named United's Players' Player of the Season last night.

"Kurt Lentjies had a two-year deal with us and the second year was on the basis that he played so many games," says club chairman Farook Kadodia.

"So he basically had a good season and he has passed the number of games that was required to play so it is an automatic option that will be renewed."

Kadodia recently handed coach Ernst Middendorp a new two-year contract for saving the side from relegation.
