Jomo Cosmos midfielder Thabang Monare is still in shock after their relegation, and admits he is considering jumping ship to further his career.
Ezenkosi were relegated in dramatic fashion on Sunday after spending only one season back in the elite league of South African football.
Monare says although he enjoyed every minute of playing for Cosmos, he feels like it’s time he needs to grow as a player.
“Even now I can't recover from what happened to us on Sunday,” he tells KickOff.com. “Sometimes I wish someone can wake me up and tell me it was all a bad dream and we are still in the PSL.”
Monare, who had several issues with the club boss Jomo Sono this season before eventually burying the hatchet following an internal suspension, says he hopes all is not doom and gloom for him personally as there might still be a chance for him to play in the Premiership next season.
“I recently received a call from Bra J; he wants to meet with me and my representatives,” he reveals.
“I enjoyed every minute I played for Cosmos because the Sonos have been good to me, but I feel like I need to grow as a player now; I need to play for honours and the PSL is the only league in this country that can give me such exposure.”
Although there haven’t been any concrete offers for the player yet, Monare will not be short of admirers.
