Besides being relegated to the National First Division, Jomo Cosmos face more trouble with Namibian side Orlando Pirates demanding compensation for the services of goalkeeper Thabo Modiba.
Cosmos were recently fined R200 000 after being found guilty of fielding Modiba without an International Transfer Clearance from Namibia where he played for Pirates before returning to South Africa.
Pirates chairman Ali Akan has confirmed with KickOff.com that his team is demanding compensation from Cosmos, who were relegated from the PSL on Saturday, but could not mention the figures.
"We came to South Africa as witnesses," he tells this website from Windhoek. "It was a matter involving the PSL and Safa. Our issue for compensation with Cosmos is still pending.
"I am sorry to hear that they are relegated. We are not demanding millions, but due compensation,” he added.
Akan confirmed that Modiba was still contracted to his team until the end of this month.
