Striker David Zulu is playing his cards close to his chest regarding future plans, admitting he has “a lot to think about”.
The 30-year-old started for Chippa United in Saturday’s 2-0 win against his mother club Kaizer Chiefs, donning the Chilli Boys shirt for the last time as his six-month loan deal from Amakhosi came to an end.
Zulu admits emotions were riding high, having to line up against his Soweto side on the final day of the season.
“Emotions were there, but we had to do what we came here for – we wanted the three points,” he told SuperSport after the game. “It was unfortunate that we had to play against them.”
The forward, who scored just once in 14 League matches for Chippa while on loan, says he enjoyed his time in Port Elizabeth.
“I had a great time here,” he said. “The support that has been there was good for me to come back, considering that I had a long term injury and didn’t play for a long time. But when I arrived I met the coach, and the coach was very encouraging and he inspired me to work harder.”
Zulu’s agent has already confirmed that his client will be returning to Naturena, yet Zulu himself says he does not know what the future may hold.
“Right now I have to think about a lot of things, so I can’t really comment or say anything right now,” he said.
