Mario Booysen tells KickOff.com that he would chose to remain at SuperSport United rather than returning to mother club Mamelodi Sundowns.
The 27-year-old defender has been in sterling form for Matsatsantsa, having joined the club on a six-month loan deal in January.
He has played every match under Stuart Baxter and says he would welcome a permanent move.
“Obviously I’m grateful for the change because you don’t want to be sitting in the stands, outside, you want to be enjoying doing what you love doing the most,” he tells this website.
“The change has been good; I have played all the games up to this point. The coach believes in me and he’s given me the trust to go out and enjoy my football again.
“The change of scenery has been really good; I adapted very quickly because I know the environment having been here before and I know most of the players too.
“It’s not over yet, but so far so good. Obviously a top eight finish and the result of the cup final will sum up the season, then I can say whether or not I had a good second half of the season at SuperSport.”
The 27-year-old is expected to return to the Brazilians at the end of the season to honour the year he has left on his contract, but he says he would chose to remain with SuperSport.
“For me personally I want to be playing,” he adds. “Sundowns does not guarantee that because you don’t know … you go there and there are other players.
“No disrespect because there are a lot of good players there and that is part of football, but personally I want to be playing; I want to be happy; I want to continue doing what I love doing and that’s being on the field."
