Orlando Pirates midfielder Sifiso Myeni: SuperSport have home advantage for Nedbank Cup final

Posted: 17 May 2016 Time: 08:34

Orlando Pirates midfielder Sifiso Myeni feels SuperSport United will enjoy the benefit of playing at home when they meet in the Nedbank Cup final at Peter Mokaba Stadium on May 28.

SuperSport use the stadium in Polokwane as their alternative venue for hosting Absa Premiership games.

And while Matsatsanta coach Stuart Baxter has dismissed talk of home advantage for his side, Myeni feels Bucs will be entering hostile territory.

"Obviously we are playing away. Peter Mokaba is SuperSport's home game," Myeni says.

"When we play them they take us there so it is like their home game. But it gives us motivation. We knew after our game against Free State Stars, and each and every player in the team was surprised about the final going there.

"But other than that, it is not us, it is the sponsors. So we told ourselves that either way, whether SuperSport or Baroka FC, they both use the stadium. Now we just have to make sure we clinch the cup at the end of the day."

The teams will first meet on Saturday at Orlando Stadium in the last match of the league season both looking to secure their place in the top eight.
