Memela, who joined Bucs at the beginning of the season, shone with a man-of-the-match display in his team's 4-2 win over Free State Stars in the Nedbank Cup semi-finals on Saturday.

The former Cape Town All Stars man netted twice and had a hand in a third goal as Pirates booked a final date with SuperSport United at Peter Mokaba Stadium on May 28.

"Yeah, I almost scored a hat-trick but I think for me it is all about the team," says Memela.

"The guys pushed me every day at training, especially when it comes to defending and it is more like my weak point.

"But they always pushed me, especially Thabo when he pushes me to go. But at the end of the day it’s all about working hard and for me I thank the team."

The 28-year-old has bagged three goals in the Nedbank Cup this season, while he has netted once and provided three assists in 11 league appearances.
