Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns proved too strong for Bidvest Wits as they walked away 1-0 victors from the Bidvest Stadium.
The match got off to an exciting start as both teams showed their attacking intent from the onset.
Billiat pulled off a stunning strike from 30-yards out midway through the half, which caught Moeneeb Josephs off his line as the ball dipped below the crossbar and into the net.
Just before half-time Leo Castro had a glorious opportunity to double Downs' lead, but was unable to keep his rebounded effort on target after initially forcing a good low save out of Josephs.
Gavin Hunt made a double change at the restart as Jabulani Shongwe and Phumlani Ntshangase made way for Joaquim Lupeta and Wangu Gome.
The second half was a much tighter affair as Downs defended well and kept the Students at bay.
Onyango pulled off a great point blank save to deny Bongani Khumalo in the 54th minute, after the defender surged forward to get on the end of a Sifiso Hlanti cross.
With just over 10 minutes to play, Vilakazi again came close to finding the back of the net but was unlucky to see his effort go over the crossbar from five yards out.
Despite the result the two sides remain in their respective positions on the log standings, however, Sundowns close in on the points record as they move to 68 points from 29 games.
