Polokwane City coach Julio Leal pays tribute to Cole Alexander

Polokwane City coach Julio Leal has paid tribute to midfielder Cole Alexander for his commitment and dedication to the club.

Alexander signed a pre-contract with Supersport United in February, but Leal has kept faith with the Cape Town-born midfielder, despite already committing himself elsewhere.

And the Brazilian coach has now hailed Alexander as one of the most professional players he has worked with in South Africa.

“It will be difficult to replace him,” Leal said. “He is very professional, and a very good player. He is one of the best players I have ever worked with. He’s a very good and fantastic player.”

Leal said that he is looking to find a capable replacement for the former Ajax Cape Town midfielder.

“We have ‘Vieira’,” he said. “He is a talented youngster that plays in the midfield and has the same capacity as Cole – he can mark, pass and cover the defence.

“It will be difficult to replace him, but there is no player irreplaceable in the world.”

Thirteenth-placed Rise and Shine end their 2015/16 season with fixtures against University of Pretoria and Bloemfontein Celtic.
