SuperSport United were held to a 2-2 draw by Polokwane City in the Absa Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
United skipper Dean Furman looked to have scored a fine winner after City's Esau Kanyenda cancelled out Dove Wome's first-half opener.
However, Tshepo Matsemela rescued a point for the visitors with a goal in the 89th minute at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
Matsatsantsa remain eighth in the standings with two games left, while Rise and Shine are safe from relegation in 13th spot.
Both sides had early opportunities, as Wome flashed a shot on the turn off target before veteran hitman Kanyena headed inches wide at the other end in the 12th minute.
Wome opened the scoring on the rebound in the 32nd minute after Bradley Grobler's attempt from close range was saved by goalkeeper George Chigova.
Wome and Furman had chances in quick succession just before the interval, but Chigova was alert to the danger.
City also threatened on the stroke of half-time, with Randy Ngobe and Cole Alexander testing United gloveman Ronwen Williams.
Jeremy Brockie could have made it 2-0 straight after the break but his casual shot was easily gathered by Chigova after he was played through by Michael Morton.
The New Zealander, who has 17 goals in all competitions this season, wasted another great chance in the 51st minute when he dragged his attempt wide from the edge of the area following a clever dummy by strike partner Grobler.
Rise and Shine then equalised in the 65th minute when Kanyenda tapped home from a couple of yards out.
However, the hosts responded two minutes later when Furman thundered in a stunning strike from outside the box after a corner was partially cleared his way.
City, nevertheless, pushed for a way back, and got their reward when Matsemela, a 75th minute replacement for Sipho Jembula, equalised with a clinical finish in the dying stages.
