Thabiso Semenya grateful for Platinum Stars support

Platinum Stars defender Thabiso Semenya has thanked his club for their support during his darkest hour following the death of his wife.

Semenya's wife passed away in a car crash on March 9 when the couple were travelling to Royal Bafokeng Stadium to watch Stars play Kaizer Chiefs.

Semenya, who was given time off after the tragedy, made his return in his team's 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates at the same venue on Monday night.

“It's not easy. I don’t know how long it is going to take,” Semenya tells KickOff.com.

“When I get into the field I can forget everything for that moment and after the game it starts over again. I must continue to soldier on.”

The Limpopo-born defender is grateful to the Dikwena family for helping him cope with the loss.

“The support has been phenomenal. I will always treasure the support I got from the club. I don’t think there was another person to give the support that I have received from the club. They have been more a family,” Semenya adds.
