Phumlani Ntshangase warns title rivals Mamelodi Sundowns

Bidvest Wits midfielder Phumlani Ntshangase feels his club are on the rise, and feels the PSL title race may go down to the wire.

The Clever Boys dispatched SuperSport United 2-0 in their last game, extending their unbeaten run to seven matches to close the gap to table-toppers Mamelodi Sundowns.

Wits take on seventh-placed Chippa United in their next encounter on Saturday, and Ntshangase feels his team are well-prepared to continue their title push.

“Preparations for this game have been good – the games are coming thick and fast and we have definitely been gaining momentum,” he tells his club’s official website. “Mentally and physically we are prepared for the game this match.

“It is most definitely going to be an exciting game. We have just come off a win against Supersport United. As a team we are looking forward – competing for the title at the end of the season. The gap between first and second is getting smaller and smaller.”

With just four matches left in the season – including a possible title-decider against Sundowns – Ntshangase feels the Brazilians should not be too comfortable in their current position at the top of the standings.

“Anything can happen, the club has never won a PSL trophy and we are definitely all looking forward to the last four games,” he said. “We are dedicated to our team and will give our all to try win the title.”

Kick-off at Bidvest Stadium is set for 6pm on Saturday.
