Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela says been impressed with the performances of striker Edward Manqele at training.

Manqele made a great impression when he came on as second-half substitute during the league game against University of Pretoria in Tshwane on Wednesday.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns striker has been struggling for game-time since arriving at Naturena this season.

But Komphela is singing praises about Manqele’s work-rate at training.

“What we have seen in the past two weeks of training, he has been doing tremendously, very well,” says Komphela.

“One of his trademarks is making runs behind the defence, reading moments of the game, holding the ball. Jabu is a quality striker.

“We knew he will get his chance and we are delighted that his contribution and that of Yeye [Reneilwe Letsholonyane] has given us the three points [against AmaTuks],” he adds.
