Granwald Scott could be the first South African in Europe this season to lift a piece of silverware when he plays for Slovan Bratislava in the Slovak Cup final on Friday.
Scott, who moved from Ajax Cape Town to Slovan in January, will hope to help his side past recent nemesis Trenčín in the final in Trnava.
Trenčín are the current holders and also beat Slovan to the league title last season.
They are top again this year, six points ahead of second-placed Slovan with four rounds of matches to play.
It means this could be the last chance Scott has to win silverware this season, with his side having only been defeated once since September.
Scott has generally started the cup matches since his arrival and come off the bench in league games, meaning he should expect to get a starting nod.
He has made seven starts and five sub appearances since moving to Europe.
There are precious few South Africans still in line for silverware this campaign, though Thulani Serero is on course to claim the Dutch championship with Ajax Amsterdam and Tefu Mashamaite’s Swedish side Hacken are in that country’s FA Cup final, though he is unlikely to play through injury.
