Keagan Ritchie ready to replace Tsepo Masilela at Kaizer Chiefs

Posted: 28 April 2016 Time: 14:09

Kaizer Chiefs defender Keagan Ritchie says he is ready to fill the big boots of Tsepo Masilela.

The left-back won Man of the Match honours in last night’s come-from-behind 2-1 win against University of Pretoria, having spent most of the season on the bench.

Ritchie is hoping to build on the performance and eventually become the first-choice at Naturena.

“Tshepo is good player… a very experienced player. He played in  Europe, played in Spain and Israel,” Ritchie says.

“I am not only competing against him, but am also learning a lot from him. Hopefully when his time is up I can take over and fill his shoes.”

Ritchie will hope for another chance when Chiefs face log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Stadium on Saturday night.

“We have to go there and do our job,” he adds. “We played well against Tuks and if we go there with the same attitude and same fighting spirit we can get the results.”
