Mpumalanga Black Aces coach Muhsin Ertugral is keeping the faith in goalkeeper Jackson Mabokgwane, despite a recent issues.
The Bafana Bafana man was caught wanting against Kaizer Chiefs, committing a howler which resulted in AmaKhosi’s opening goal.
But Ertugral has urged his goalie not to drop his head following his performance at the Mbombela Stadium.
“It was unfortunate. He wanted to come and help the defensive line and it was unfortunate to conceed like that,” the coach tells KickOff.com.
“Such mistakes happen in football. He also made a couple of good saves. He is a good goalkeeper … he knows his mistake. There is no need to go public about it. We all make mistakes; it’s part of football.”
Aces travel to Kwazulu-Natal tomorrow to face relegation candidates Maritzburg United at Harry Gwala Stadium, and Ertugral believes it will be a tough game.
“They only have two games to play at home and the rest are on the road. They lost last week against Tuks, which was a very important game for them. It’s going to be a do-or-die game.”
