Mamelodi Sundowns maintained their four-point lead at the top of the Absa Premiership standings following a 3-1 win against Polokwane City at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Rise & Shine started well enough and had a few long-range shots at goal, but The Brazilians soon found their feet and got the opener on the half-hour mark.
Leonardo Castro scored the opening goal for the log leaders, although replays showed the Colombian may have been offside when Khama Billiat passed him the ball.
The Colombian got his brace early in the second half, finishing from close range once again after goalkeeper George Chigova could only parry the excellent Billiat's shot.
But Rise and Shine would not roll over and pulled a goal back just a minute later through their top scorer Thobani Mncwango for his 10th goal of the season after Wayne Arendse cleared a ball straight to him.
The Brazilians restored their two-goal cushion after the hour-mark when another player of the season contender Keagan Dolly dribbled into the box, left a defender for dead and buried the finish.
Tackles were flying in at this stage and it was only a matter of time before somebody was sent off, and that happened in the 74th minute when Edgar Manaka was dismissed for a studs-up challenge on Billiat.
The loss leaves Polokwane City dangerously close to the relegation zone in 13th place with 23 points, only three points clear of the danger zone
