Thabo Nthethe backing Sundowns to bounce back

Posted: 12 April 2016 Time: 09:42

Thabo Nthethe is backing his Mamelodi Sundowns teammates to bounce back from their CAF Champions League defeat because they want to “create history”.

The Brazilians conceded with the last move of the game to lose the second round, first leg match 1-0 to AS Vita in Kinshasa

They now need to make sure they win and not concede at home on 20 April in the return leg, and Nthethe is confident that will be the case.

“I really want to lift that trophy and put a star on the jersey,” he tells KICK OFF.

POLL: Can Sundowns bounce back?

“Truth be told, it is all about creating history and after your career the question will be, ‘What did you do when you were still playing?’. I want to be part of the history that the team of 2016 would create by winning the Champions League.

“The Orlando Pirates class of 1995 will never be forgotten. I want to do the same and the other players share the same desire.”
