Free State Stars boosted ahead of Orlando Pirates showdown

Posted: 6 April 2016 Time: 16:54

Free State Stars have received a major boost ahead of Saturday’s PSL encounter with Orlando Pirates following the return of experienced duo Paulus Masehe and Davies Nkausu.

Veteran skipper Masehe and defender Nkausu both did not feature for Ea Lla Koto in their Nedbank Cup win over Santos on Sunday with respective hamstring injuries, yet both are available for selection for their meeting with the Buccaneers this weekend.

Coach Giovanni Solinas will however be without defender Rueben Thebekang who is still carrying a quadriceps strain while Mrisho Ngasa’s lateral meniscus tear keeps him out this weekend as well.

Both are set to return to action in two weeks’ time.

Stars are currently on a five-match unbeaten streak in all competitions, yet Saturday’s amtch-up against the Bucs promises to be a tight affair, with both sides sharing an identical record in the League thus far this season with 32 points from 23 matches.

The duo will hope to cement their top eight position with maximum points at Orlando Stadium on Saturday evening, with kick-off at 20:15.
