Orlando Pirates injury update

Posted: 31 March 2016 Time: 14:08

Orlando Pirates coach Eric Tinkler has given an update on the injured players at the club.

The Buccaneers have been beset by injuries this season, but the players are slowly returning and could play a key role in the run-in.

Tinkler confirms that Rooi Mahamutsa and Thandani Ntshumayelo are back and could face Jomo Cosmos in the Nedbank Cup this weekend.

Oupa Manyisa is also back at training, but Tinkler is wary of rushing the captain back.

“Oupa is doing very well; I think we’re talking about one of the most talented players in the country, but we shouldn’t rush him. We might not even see him possibly this season.”

Tinkler says they are also expecting updates on Mpho Makola (quad) and Thabo Matlaba (concussion) – both of whom were injured on national team duty.

“Makola and Matlaba will be assessed when they come back this afternoon.”
