Heartland deny Rangers’ charge

Heartland deny charge

Heartland FC have denied allegations of irregularity levelled against them by Rangers International over the recent signing of defender, Chinedu Efugh.

Rangers claim that Efugh, their player, was acquired by Heartland and registered with the NFF without Rangers permission.

Rangers Media Officer, Forster Chime had in a press statement last week accused Heartland of employing 'robbery' to get the services of the player.

But Cajetan Nkwopara, Heartland's Media Officer stated that Rangers' allegation had no basis because the player was granted a provisional clearance by the Nigeria Football Association (Federation) before he was signed by Heartland.

"Negotiations broke down between the two clubs over the player's transfer bid to Heartland, but Efugh insisted he wanted to leave and therefore approached the football authority which then ruled that in the interim, his career must not be allowed to suffer," Nkwopara said in a press statement.

"Efugh was granted provisional clearance to play for Heartland in line with the rules, pending the final determination of the case by the football house.

"The decision of the FA was communicated to both clubs in writing before Heartland gave the player a contract."

Nkwopara argued that Heartland did not contravene any rule, describing Rangers action on the matter as unfortunate.

He however expressed the hope that the matter would be resolved amicably.

NONSENCE,this Cajetan nobody is chatting rubbish.NFF has no right to transfer a player to another club if the player in question still has a legally binding contract with his present club. Here in the English Premiership, STUART DOWNING wanted to leave his club MIDDLESBOROUGH for TOTTENHAM HOTSPURS. He submitted a transfer request but was turned down by his club. The English FA did not intervene, neither did they grant him any temporary licence to move to SPURS. HE STAYED AT MIDDLESBOROUGH.When a player signs for a club, he must leave the club legally except the contract he signed is not legally binding.
