Kaizer Chiefs right-back Kgotso Moleko is wary of the threat former teammate Kingston Nkhatha and former Amakhosi coach Stuart Baxter will pose in tonight’s clash against SuperSport United.
Chiefs host Matsatsantsa, who are under the tutelage of Baxter, at the Cape Town Stadium at 20h15.
Nkhatha has somewhat rediscovered his ‘mojo’ under the Englishman, who took over the reigns from Gordon Igesund last month.
“It’s going to be a threat [facing Nkhatha and Baxter],” Moleko acknowledges. “But we must just focus, work for our coach, try to work hard and we can make it.
“It’s not all about who was here and who is still here now. We can make it; it’s all about the attitude and mindset.”
Chiefs go into the game on the back a four-game winning streak in all competitions, and the former Bloemfontein Celtic player reckons the team is starting to respond to Steve Komphela’s coaching methods.
“We’re starting to know the coach more and we’re getting there,” he adds. “When he arrived we didn’t know what he wanted and I think now we’re getting there and everything is going well.
“It’s about patience; we must just give the coach a chance and as players we must just play to his structures and do what he wants that's all we can do.”
Moleko adds: “That's a good run. Four games in a row is not easy and if we continue and win eight in a row maybe the confidence will be back. It’s about consistency and if we can continue winning our games, it will boost our morale and it make us go far.”
