Orlando Pirates winger Thabo Qalinge is set to see a specialist to treat a bruised thigh.
Qalinge and defender Rooi Mahamutsa had to be substituted during Bucs' 2-1 win over Ajax Cape Town last night, with the latter going off with a hamstring problem.
Pirates on their website gave an update on the pair's situation.
'According to the medical team, Thabo Qalinge suffered a contusion of his quadriceps muscle on the side of his right leg. He underwent a diagnostic ultra sound today which revealed a bruising of his muscle. He is to be referred to a specialist.
'Rooi Mahamutsa complained of hamstring pain on his left leg at half time and upon the Doctor’s assessment it was decided that he should be taken off as a precaution. He was referred to an ultra sound specialist for diagnosis and the test revealed that he was suffering from semi-tendinosis, however there is no tear of the muscle. However there is just a bit of bleeding due to the strain.'
Meanwhile, Lehlogonolo Masalesa has recoverered from his knock, Happy Jele is expected back at full training in a fortnight, Siyabona Sangweni is still nursing a knee complaint, while Oupa Manyisa is continuing his rehabilitation from a broken ankle.
