Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela details qualities of William Twala

Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has detailed the qualities that attracted the club to new signing William Twala.

Chiefs recruited Twala from Chippa United in January, with the winger netting his first goal for Amakhosi in a 2-0 win at Golden Arrows on Tuesday night.

Komphela said: "[Twala] is a quick player, very intelligent and he knows how to attack space, which is why this institution decided to go for him.

"The modern game is about speed and high levels of technical ability which he has got."

The former Free State Stars boss felt Twala's goal against Abafana Bes'thende illustrated his ability to attack space.

"The culmination of his goal was him attacking the space and being brave, and as soon as he reached the keeper he just put the ball under the keeper."

Meanwhile, Komphela was relieved to avoid chalking up a ninth draw in the league this season against Arrows, albeit in nervous fashion.

"We get chances match-in and match-out. We are delighted today we can break this thing of drawing matches unnecessarily, even though there were scary moments."
