Polokwane City's Cole Alexander relishing working with SuperSport coach Stuart Baxter

Polokwane City midfielder Cole Alexander is looking forward to working with SuperSport United coach Stuart Baxter next season.

Alexander has penned a two-year pre-contract with United, and will switch alliances on July 1.

The 26-year-old is confident his career will develop under Baxter, who led Kaizer Chiefs to two league titles and Nedbank Cup and MTN8 honours before leaving Naturena in May.

"Coach Baxter has the necessary European experience and that counts for a lot in the modern game," Alexander tells

"The fact that he has shown interest in me bodes well for my future at SuperSport.

"I also envisage the fact that he can bring the best out of me with his experience. Hopefully I can also fulfil my lifelong ambition of moving abroad under his guidance.

"I know my ambition of playing for Bafana Bafana again will be given a massive boost when I will play for SuperSport.

"All in all, I’m just very grateful and relieved that I have secured my future for the next two years as that is very important for me and my family’s future."

The former Ajax Cape Town man says finalising the move has been a load off his shoulders.

"This move has been weighing on my mind for a long time and I’m just glad things have settled down and fallen into place.

"I had a long discussion with my family and we came to a decision that this move would be in my best interest as well as that of my family.

"I’m very grateful for the opportunity Polokwane has given me and wish them everything of the best in the future."
