Posted: 27 January 2016 Time: 12:07

Maritzburg United have released Ryan de Jongh from his contract as the versatile midfielder goes in search of another club.

De Jongh was a regular player under Steve Komphela, Mandla Mcikazi and Clive Barker but has been frozen out since Ernst Middendorp took over the reins.

The 26-year-old has courted interest from several PSL clubs, with Platinum Stars believed to be the frontrunners for his signature.

The Team of Choice have been in a reshuffle with Ayanda Nkosi, Themba Mavundla, Veluyeke Zulu and Siyabulela Shai also being released.

Former Bloemfontein Celtic players Gregory Maasdorp and Tumelo Mogapi have been brought in so far to strengthen the ranks as Maritzburg fight for their survival.
