Free State Stars coach Giovanni Solinas dedicated their victory over Bloemfontein Celtic to injured striker Andrea Fileccia.
Stars edged Celtic 1-0 at Goble Park on Saturday afternoon, thanks to a first half Lucky Mohomi strike.
Ea Lla Koto were dealt a blow when striker Fileccia was forced off after a horrible tackle from Mbhazima Rikhotso in the 17th minute.
It was later confirmed that the Belgian attacker suffered a tear to his SCL, which will likely rule him out for the rest of the season.
Solinas immediately expressed his sympathy for the club's current leading goalscorer, and dedicated their efforts to the 24-year-old.
"I'm very, very happy for this victory and a little bit sad because of the injury to Fileccia," he said after the match.
"This victory is for Fileccia, but the guys today put in a great performance. Not as much offensively as defensively, but they worked very well."
The Italian mentor praised his goalkeeping hero Daouda Diakite for his man-of-the-match display that ensured his side keep a clean sheet.
"I am very happy for Diakite because of his incredible performance today, and it's good for him and his confidence going forward."
