Yebo Yes United secures three sponsorship deals

Posted: 21 January 2016 Time: 21:40

ABC Motsepe League side Yebo Yes United, also known as the development and feeder club to Orlando Pirates, has recently secured a hat-trick of sponsorship deals with Zone Fitness, aQuelle as well as Afrihost.

The sponsorship agreements illustrate a new found popularity, professionalism and investment within the SAFA second division league, while the Zone Fitness deal is one of the biggest deals in the history of an ABC Motsepe League team.

The club’s Administrative Manager David Bentel viewed the developments as a great achievement for the club, and believes it will provide a good base for the team to achieve their main goal of promotion to the First Division.

“This is a massive move forward for the future of South African football and for us as a club,” Bentel tells KickOff.com.

“Such sponsorship deals will create the foundations needed for when one day we get promoted to the National First Division as this is our primary objective.

"We hope these deals can create a further trend of professionalism in the league. We hope it creates interest for games to be televised and more sponsors to get involved with the league.”

It is worth noting the scarcity of any sponsorship in South Africa’s lower leagues, including the National First Division, thus making Yebo Yes the ‘trendsetters’ in the lower divisions after having secured three such deals.

Suzelle Stegen Marketing Manager of aQuelle said: “Having sponsored Yebo Yes United, we are enthusiastic to be a part of recognising the talent of young South African soccer players.

"We wish the club a sparkling season! Natural or flavoured, still or sparkling, every bottle of aQuelle adds up to 100% FOR PEOPLE."

Suvesh Arumugam Social Media Manager of Afrihost also added: “Afrihost are pleased to announce their commencement of their sponsorship relationship with Yebo Yes United.

“We commend the Yebo Yes team on their progress in commitment to youth and sports development and the opportunities they have created for young South Africans.

"We will be watching the upcoming games with great interest and we wish the Soweto Starlings the very best of luck."

Santie De Kock, National Brand Manager of Zone Fitness, believes this sponsorship will aid in the development of lower league football in general, and in particular the physical conditioning of the Yebo Yes team.

“Zone Fitness is committed to helping improve lower league sides in all sporting codes,” said De Kock.

“The difference between success and failure in sport is often down to conditioning, and we believe in equal opportunities for all.

"With complimentary access to our Zone Fitness gym in Bruma Lake, we hope the Soweto Starlings will get into tip top shape and not only help their team succeed, but push for higher honours individually too."
