Franklin Cale unsure of Ajax Cape Town future

Posted: 18 January 2016 Time: 16:42

Veteran Ajax Cape Town winger Franklin Cale says he is still uncertain about his future with the club.

Cale’s contract expires in May and the 32-year-old says there has been no hint of negotiations over a new contract.

“It’s a bit frustrating as I don’t not know where I stand with the club,” Cale told KickOff.com

“As a family man it’s important to know as there is a lot at stake for my family as well. I hope that I can get some finality on this in order to know what my future holds.”

Cale scored his first goal of the season when the Urban Warriors played out to a 1-1 drew Wednesday against Golden Arrows in the King Zwelethini Stadium.

The former SuperSport United and Mamelodi Sundowns player adds that he is enjoying the fact that he is injury-free again.

“Honestly speaking, I feel like a kid again every time I take to the field. I’m extremely fit and I’m really enjoying my game.

“Even Mabhuti [Khenyeza] said the other day during the match against Arrows, ‘Hey Frankie, but you can still run like a youngster’. That just proved to me that I still have a lot of gas in my legs.”
