Chippa United netted twice in the second half for a comfortable 2-0 win at Golden Arrows on Saturday afternoon.
Nkosinathi Mthiyane and Lerato Manzini were the goalscorers for a Chilli Boys side who wasted a number of chances.
Abafana Bes’thende began the match brightly, with Kudakwashe Mahachi firing wide early on before Deon Hotto fired a free-kick just wide.
Mthiyane’s shot was saved by Nkosingiphile Gumede on the half-hour mark, while Mwape Musondo fired over from a tight angle after a lovely flick over the defence by Mahachi.
Aristide Bance had a chance to put his side into the lead eight minutes after the restart, but the Burkina Faso international forward missed the target from close range.
Chippa returnee David Zulu tested the keeper from range just past the hour-mark before Mthiyane gave the vistors the lead – starting and finishing a quick counter-attack.
Arrows had their chance, but Chippa made sure of the three points in time added on when substitute Manzini beat Gumede from close range.
