Ben Motshwari reveals Bidvest Wits' Absa Premiership title belief

Posted: 14 January 2016 Time: 14:39

Bidvest Wits midfielder Ben Motshwari is expecting an exciting contest when they face fellow title challengers Mpumalanga Black Aces on Friday night.

Aces are just two points behind the table-topping Clever Boys meaning that the game takes on extra significance this season as they two sides look to challenge traditional league favourites Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.

“I think the game will be a very important game for both clubs. It will be a challenging game because Aces would also like to climb up the ladder. We are most definitely ready for the game,” Motshwari tells the club’s website.

“We have built a good foundation this season so far, the squad rotation is balanced, so whoever steps in is ready for the challenge. That is the reason why we are doing so well and currently are first on the log.

“There are still two more games until we are halfway through the season, but I think so far so good.”

Motshwari feels there is a belief in the Wits camp that their first Absa Premiership title could well be within reach this year.

“We have a good squad, good coach, and the entire technical team are excellent as well. With this squad we are capable of winning the league this season,” he says.

“The experienced players that we have like Daine Klate, Bongani Khumalo, Elias Pelembe and Moeneeb Josephs have all won titles at their previous clubs.

“Having experienced players helps the team face any obstacles that may appear, they keep the team together and they motivate us to keep on pushing.”
