Golden Arrows complete Giulio Giuricich signing

Posted: 7 January 2016 Time: 15:33

Golden Arrows coach Clinton Larsen has confirmed the signing of defender Giulio Giuricich and is pleased to strengthen his backline.

This website revealed back in November that the former Moroka Swallows left-back had started training with Arrows with the view to a deal while Serame Letsoaka was still in charge.

The 25-year-old is set to slot straight into the starting line-up against Free State Stars on Saturday as Arrows are short of numbers in the left-back position, with Thembela Sikhakhane suspended.

“That’s right yes, we have completed the deal for Giuricich,” Larsen tells KickOff.com.

“I wasn’t part of the contract negotiations and that was between the club's management and the player, but I know that they were finalising everything and you will probably get that information from them. But I think as of today he should be ready and available to play.”

Giuricich, who played nine matches in all competitions for Swallows last season, tried his luck earlier this season at Mamelodi Sundowns but saw his move fall through.

The South African of Italian descent is believed to have signed a short-term deal until the end of the season with an option to renew.

Arrows are expected to add a few more players to their squad during this transfer window but Larsen would not be drawn to reveal the names of his targets.
