Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Hendrick Ekstein has conceded that he did not have the best of games in the Telkom Knockout Final loss to Mamelodi Sundowns on Wednesday evening.
The 25-year-old attacker failed to captivate the capacity crowd at Moses Mabhida Stadium in just his fourth start of the season, having broke through into the first team at the beginning of the campaign.
Ekstein garnered attention with his previous displays, but admitted he struggled against the Brazilians in Durban.
“It was not easy to play against Sundowns, who you know is a very good team,” ‘Pule’ tells KickOff.com.
“We played, and we lost, so we are not happy. But we have to look ahead and hopefully we’ll do better next time.
“About me, there’s nothing I can say because I didn’t play well so I have nothing to say.”
Amakhosi next travel to Cape Town to face Bidvest Wits in a tough Absa Premiership encounter, and the diminutive trickster will hope for a much-improved performance to help his side remain within touching distance of the log leaders heading into the Christmas break.
