Bloemfontein Celtic chairman Max Tshabalala expects Tshepo Rikhotso and Dumisani Zuma to return to the club "oozing with confidence" after they helped the country qualify for next year's Olympics.
The pair were in the national U-23 squad that finished third at the U-23 Africa Cup of Nations in Senegal on Saturday, thereby snapping up the final CAF ticket for Rio 2016.
South Africa will represent the continent at the global sporting spectacular, along with U-23 AFCON champions Nigeria and finalists Algeria.
"Tournaments of such stature not only benefit the country but even clubs as our players gain massive experience and exposure in the process," Tshabalala told Celtic's website.
"Both Tshepo Rikhotso and Dumisani Zuma will obviously come back oozing with confidence. Special thanks to Owen da Gama and his technical team for such stupendous results."
Tshabalala added: "They deserve not only accolades but a hero’s welcome when they return. Such results will indelibly remain in our minds for decades to come. This will also nullify the myth about our inability to perform away from home. Come 2016 the boys will be more than ready to compete against the best."
Owen da Gama and his charges, who also won the Fair Play Award at the continental event, are due to arrive at OR Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg at 17h15 today.
