Free State Stars academy coach Themba Sithole is pleased with the output of the club's development ranks.
Sithole says Stars have promoted five players to their first team in the past year, including 20-year-old midfielder Sello Jafta.
Jafta made his PSL debut in Ea Lla Koto's 3-1 loss to Mamelodi Sundowns last month, earning praise from head coach Ernst Middendorp.
“In less than a year we have promoted no less than five players to the senior team. The club is reaping the fruits of a good development structure,” Sithole told the club's website.
“Look at Sello Jafta – he had a good first match against one of the big teams, Mamelodi Sundowns, a week ago. So we are talking about developing talented youngsters who are going to make a real contribution to the first-team cause.”
Stars are 13th on the Absa Premiership table, and will end 2015 with a game against Jomo Cosmos at Goble Park on December 19.
