Free State Stars stalwart Paulus Masehe has warned Mamelodi Sundowns they are in for a fight in tomorrow's Absa Premiership clash at Lucas Moripe Stadium.
The Brazilians are in intimidating form, having won eight and drawn one in their previous nine games in all competitions.
Pitso Mosimane's men are three points beind log leaders Bidvest Wits and nine ahead of Ea Lla Koto. And while Masehe has ample respect for the Telkom Knockout finalists he insists Ea Lla Koto will not simply roll over on the weekend.
“It’s not going to be an easy match by any stretch of the imagination,” Masehe told his club's website.
“Sundowns have been doing well of late. They are a quality side and we respect them as a club. That said, we are certainly not going to lie down for them once we cross that white line. We intend to make a real contest of it.”
Stars' last competitive fixture was a goalless draw with SuperSport United on November 1. However, Ernst Middendorp's charges stayed active in the recently concluded FIFA break.
“The preparations going into the Sundowns match were good. We won 4-0 away to Wits and beat Royal Eagles twice in one day last weekend. So we are in good shape,” Masehe added.
“The FIFA international break gave us ample time to work on our game and try out different combinations. I’m pretty confident that we will get something out of the match against Sundowns tomorrow night.”
The game will kick off at 20h15.
