Thato Mokeke eyes first team return at SuperSport United

Thato Mokeke is determined to fight his way back into first team contention at SuperSport United.

The utility player participated in United's 1-0 victory over Kaizer Chiefs at Sinaba Stadium in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge on Sunday.

Mokeke made his return from injury the weekend before in a 1-0 defeat of Platinum Stars in the Reserve League.

"I’m happy to be back in the fold," Mokeke told his club's website. " I just need to work on my fitness level and also fight to get back into the first team set-up.

"It is not going to be an easy one but I’m positive. I hope to be 100 percent by the end of the current season and help my team."

Meanwhile, Mokeke is hopeful Matsatsantsa can swiftly bounce back from their recent semi-final exit in the Telkom Knockout at the hands of Tshwane rivals Mamelodi Sundowns.

“We couldn’t defend the title we won last season. Unfortunately that is the name of the game. It was not the end of the world, there is still another tournament to play for, hopefully we will do better and achieve our goal.”
