Kaizer Chiefs injury update: Itumeleng Khune set for surgery, David Zulu back in December

Posted: 12 November 2015 Time: 09:21

Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune will undergo surgery tomorrow for a torn meniscus, while striker David Zulu should return to full training in December.

Khune was called up for Bafana Bafana's World Cup qualifier with Angola but he suffered a recurrence of a knee injury in training last week.

Amakhosi teammate Brilliant Khuzwayo subsequently played and starred in the Soweto Derby victory over Orlando Pirates in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals this past weekend.

Meanwhile, Zulu, who has not featured this season, is making his way back from a torn ankle ligament. The former Chippa United man went under the knife in September.

“David Zulu has started running and is doing some jumps,” Chiefs physiotherapist James Milner reveals on the club's official website.

“He is progressing well and should be back to full training in December.”
