Roger De Sa praise for goalkeeper Jody February

Ajax Cape Town coach Roger De Sa has heaped praise on young goalkeeper Jody February after filling in for regular shot-stopper Anssi Jaakkola.
February produced a solid display in goals, yet his fine saves were not enough to prevent Orlando Pirates recording a 2-1 victory in Cape Town, as the shot-stopper fast-tracked his way to just his second League start of the season following the red-card suspension of Jaakkola last month.
De Sa was full of praise for the national Under-20 gloveman, who he felt performed admirably on the big stage.
“We’ve always felt that Jody had it in him,” De Sa told reporters. “He’s 19 years old, and ready to play. I think he’ll probably step aside for Anssi [Jaakkola] in the next game, but I think he’d probably play for most teams in the PSL, even at the age of 19.
“I thought he was very good and he looked very mature – you’d never say he was a 19-year-old kid in the goals.”
Fellow goalkeeper Brandon Petersen returned to full training for Ajax this week, leaving De Sa with a pleasant selection headache for his side’s two remaining fixtures this year.
“The good news is that Brandon [Petersen] has also started training and is fully fit again, so he’ll step up as well,” he said. “So we’ll rotate them in some friendly games coming up and see who is up for it.”
Ajax take on SuperSport United in their last League match in Cape Town for 2015, scheduled for Athlone Stadium on Saturday, 21 November.
