Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela has welcomed the selection headache posed by fan-favourite Hendrick Ekstein.
Komphela handed Ekstein his first League start of the season in a 3-1 win over ten-man Golden Arrows on Tuesday night.
Komphela later replaced Ekstein with George Lebese in the 83rd minute, a move that did not go down well with a section of the Amakhosi faithful at FNB Stadium.
However, the former Maritzburg United boss revealed Ekstein requested the change due to fatigue.
When asked about the switch, Komphela said: "You know, when somebody says something, you have to hear what they are saying. But you should also be listening to what they are not saying.
"At the back of what you are saying is Ekstein. He said to me, 'Hey baba, I'm finished, I want to come out.'
"Now I like it when they [the fans] got on my back because they like him so much. He is a hell of a good player and that headache will continue. There is nothing as nice as a nice headache. I think we will have to take that one."
