Maximilian Mbaeva: Golden Arrows were up for Orlando Pirates clash

Posted: 28 October 2015 Time: 23:04

Maximilian Mbaeva says Golden Arrows were not short of motivation for their Absa Premiership clash with Soweto giants Orlando Pirates.

The PSL returnees finally put one over Pirates with a 2-0 scoreline on Wednesday, with goalkeeper Mbaeva scooping man-of-the-match honours at Orlando Stadium.

Arrows, who lost their previous 11 meetings with Bucs, also recorded back-to-back victories in the League for the first time this season to rise to seventh in the standings.

Mbaeva said: "Today we show we wanted to win, we are very happy to take six points away from home.

"Today we were very excited to come out against a big team. When playing a big team you want to show your best, it is encouragement in itself. No-one has to encourage you.

"I am very happy, today we played our usual football."
