Black Leopards captain Siphelele Ntshangase says he is happy to see his South Africa Under-23 teammate Keagan Dolly flourishing at Mamelodi Sundowns.
Dolly has hit the ground running at Sundowns and won the heart of coach Pitso Mosimane having played most of the matches this season, despite the thought that he would struggle to win a regular place in the starting line-up due to their depth in his position.
Ntshangase and Dolly have performed superbly for the Under-23s as they led Owen da Gama’s side to qualification for the CAF 8-Nations tournament in Senegal next month.
“I’m extremely happy for him because we play mostly together when we are at Under-23s and our combination is good,” Ntshangase tells KickOff.com.
“I actually did not think he will have good games like this and I have watched him several times this season. He looks calm and in a good space. I also do the same when I play matches and I keep it simple and do whatever I can do so that it is possible for the team to win matches.”
Dolly first put himself on the scoresheet when he netted twice against Jomo Cosmos in the League and he followed that up with another screamer in a 2-0 victory over Chippa United in the Telkom Knockout round of 16.
On Sunday he tucked away a delightful, composed pass from Mogakolodi Ngele to add the fourth goal in Sundowns’ 6-1 win over Free State Stars in the TKO quarter-finals.
